Dr Julie Brooks
Julie Brooks is a graduate of the University of Durham, where she completed a doctorate in 19th century Irish political and religious history. She also worked in the university’s Archives and Special Collections, before returning to Ireland where she gained an MA with distinction in Archives and Records Management at University College Dublin. In addition to her work at the National Archives, she has also returned to UCD as an occasional lecturer on the MA in Archives and Records Management.
Julie was responsible for cataloguing the Chief Secretary’s Office Registered Papers for 1819, 1821, 1821 State of the Country, and for the latter part of 1822.
Nigel Johnston is a graduate of Queen’s University, Belfast, where he completed a M.A. in Irish History. Having won an archival studentship with the National Library of Ireland, he completed the Higher Diploma in Archival Studies at University College Dublin in 2004. His work as an archivist has involved projects at the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin, Queen’s University, Belfast, and Newry and Mourne Museum, County Down.
Nigel was responsible for cataloguing the Chief Secretary’s Office Registered Papers for 1818, 1820 and the first part of 1822.
