Letter from D’arcy Mahon, Inspector General of Stamp Duties, Stamp Office, Tralee, County Kerry, to Charles Grant, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, alleging that the Commissioners of Stamps, have fallen short of good practices under a range of heads, including not making inspections of stamped goods, not enforcing adequate security for stamps held by distributors, not arresting the practice of forged stamps, and, in consequence, permitting uncontrolled losses in crown revenue.
