Outrage report by Major D O’Donoghue, chief magistrate of police, Trallic Lodge, county Dublin, to William H Gregory, Under Secretary of Ireland, Dublin Castle, stating that peace has prevailed in the ‘Proclaimed District’ of north county Dublin, over the past week, 27 April to 3 May 1818, due in great part, he stresses, to ‘the competency of an efficient Police in restoring tranquility’. Provides short detail of police duties and patrol exercises in neighborhood, covering parts of the localities of Spring Hill, Wyanstown, Grallagh, Fieldstown, Naul, Balbriggan, Garristown, Whitestown and Baldwinstown. Encloses expenses statement covering cost of lodgings, salaries, ‘Clothing for 20 Constables’ and purchase of five horses.
