Willcocks relates his own communication with Cudmore, stating that, in fact, the steward had no such information, and notes that Garstin was 'premature' in contacting government with a potential source, which he had not verified, 18 November 1821; he encloses copy of affidavit of Garstin, Church of Ireland rector of Kilpeacon, County Limerick, sworn before John Croker, magistrate, at Croom Castle, 16 November 1821, concerning his actions. |
