SCOPE & CONTENT:

Copy of letter from 'Captain Rock', Askeaton, County Limerick, to Alderman Henry Watson, proprietor of the 'Limerick Chronicle', instructing him to include in the paper, a notice to the gentlemen and land agents in County Limerick, advising them to waive one year's rent for each of their tenants. States that if his orders are followed, he will return all the arms which were stolen, and peace shall return to the county. Warns of the consequence to those who do not comply, threatening them with the same fate as befell the late Major Richard Going, chief magistrate for County Limerick. Refers to his work in assisting the poor against tyrants.
