Memorial from Samuel Davidson, on behalf of the Attorney’s Society of Ireland, to Richard Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, complaining that they are degraded by an oath which assistant barristers are compelled to administer to them at Quarter Sessions and also by the inadequacy of the fees allowed to them. Noting that at Quarter Sessions they are ‘called upon to act as Advocates as well as Attorneys’ while in the superior courts that as ‘always aided by Counsel’. |
