Letter from Rev Ralph Stoney, Parsonage House, Terryglass, [County Tipperary], to Henry Goulburn, Chief Secretary, noting the contents of three ‘Rockite notices’ which have been given to him and complaining that Richard Willcocks and the police have not offered him any protection following the burning of his school house. Noting that the threatening notices were directed against Abraham Bugess, steward and bodyguard and [] Dunkin, school master. Drawing attention to the ‘poteen or Shebeen houses’ in the village which are open on Sundays and noting that outrages are frequently committed on that day. Also letter from Richard Willcocks, Inspector General of Police, Limerick, to William Gregory, Under Secretary, noting that Stoney has previously requested that a curfew of 9 o’clock be imposed.
