Memorial signed by 37 magistrates and inhabitants residing at Caher [Cahir], County Tipperary, to Richard Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, reporting on the violent robbery of over £348 from the mills of Caher Abbey, owned by Richard Grubb. Also affidavits of John English, watchman and Samuel Fayle, clerk of Caher Abbey Mills, providing eyewitness accounts of the robbery and the beatings they received. Also copy of ‘The Clonmel Advertiser’ newspaper, dated 15 April 1826, providing an account of meeting which was called to discuss the robbery. Also draft letter from unknown sender, Dublin Castle, to Baron Pennefather, noting that a government pardon is to be offered to any person providing information on the robbery of the mills at Caher Abbey. Attributing the improvement to increased agricultural produce and the introduction of legislation concerning tithes and the constabulary.

Copy of letter from Rev Hamilton, Archdeacon and Magistate, Mount Bernard, to Capt John MacLeod, noting that Constable MacDowel, has been committed to gaol for having fired a shot that wounded a man during riot in Castlederg, [County Tyrone]. Also letter from MacLeod, Chief Constable and Pay Clerk, Omagh, to Maj Thomas D’Arcy, Inspector General of Police, reporting that the police were attacked while attempting to quell an organised fight between the ‘Corcorans’ and the ‘Morrises’ and stating that the man who was shot was called Peter McGlinchy. Also covering letter from D’Arcy, Belfast, to William Gregory, Under Secretary, claiming that the constable’s behaviour was justified on this occasion and that he should be allowed bail.
