Letter from Thomas Scott, constable, Ballymore Eustace, [County Kildare], to Alderman Darley, reporting on speeches made by four ‘Councellors’ [from the Catholic Association] at a meeting in his town, namely Messers Brady, Curran, North and Jack Lawless. Noting that they urged listeners to pay the [Catholic] Rent and to beware of the Brunswick Clubs. Adding that the meeting was chaired by Mr Thompson of Stonebrook and that L Quinn and Christopher Dromgoole, were appointed to collect the rent. |
