Letter from magistrate Capt William Dobbin, Ballyhaden, Borrisokane, [County Tipperary], to William Gregory, Under Secretary, forwarding 2 threatening notices served on Char and Kennedy who ‘some time past took some lands in this barony from a Mr Allen, from which the former tenants had been ejected’. Additional extract copied from schedule dated 22 May 1829, of report by Capt Henry Hamilton, Subinspector for County Wexford, that ‘two Cabins near the Police Station of Kiltealy… were levelled on the night of the 18th instant… in consequence it is supposed “of the Land having been lately Let to a man from the Co. of Carlow and the former Tenants having been dispossessed”.’
