Includes letter from Armstrong, 42 Lower Gardiner Street, Dublin, to Lieutenant Colonel Sir William Gosset, Under Secretary, dismissing an application from Joseph Knox for the position of permanent sergeant on grounds that Knox is ‘neither young, active, nor promising’; adding that the name of Charles Henderson is approved of and that man will be duly appointed, dated 25th of June 1831.
