Outline of case on behalf of the crown regarding the possible prosecution of persons for interrupting John Lucas, coroner of County Clare, in the discharge of an inquest; with request for the opinion of the Attorney General [Edward Pennefather]. Detailing that Lucas made a visit to the house of a deceased boy named Kelly aged 13 at Kilrush, who died due to imbibing some deleterious substance, were he met resistance from a brother of the deceased; having procured assistance from the police and military he met with even more extreme resistance and threats; with conclusion from Pennefather that a prosecution is justified. Also further extended treatment of same case [marked No 2] with request for the opinion of the Attorney General; with determination added on base by Henry Joy [Attorney General until 1830].

Alluding to the loss of his father, Michael Murphy of the North Cork Militia, during a military engagement in County Wexford in 1798, and claiming that his mother and himself were both stabbed by rebels; noting that due to his injury he is incapacitated and unable to work as a shoemaker.
