Letter from Reverend Forster Archer, Inspector General of Prisons Ireland, Inspector General of Prisons Office, 70 Camden Street, Dublin, to Charles Grant, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, enclosing a list of figures for the numbers of debtors imprisoned in Ireland in 1818, and highlighting various points in relation to them. Enclosure provides a breakdown of figures of the numbers of debtors imprisoned in Ireland in 1818, divided into county and sub-divided again according to size of debt and the ultimate fate of the debtors, such as the numbers discharged by plaintiff, and the numbers who died whilst in prison. Also contains a separate summary breakdown of statistics for the Four Courts Marshalsea. Signed by Archer. |
