Letter from Joseph Morris, debtor held in Four Courts Marshalsea, Dublin, to William Gregory, Under Secretary, Dublin Castle, concerning problems with supply of water to the prison baths, and to the lavatories, and complaining about a lunatic held in the prison since 1816, who puts cloths and straw bedding into the privy, 'thus increasing the misery to every Inhabitant here', 2 March 1821. Also letter from William Logan, inspector to Four Courts Marshalsea, to Gregory, reporting, as requested, on the claims. Informs Gregory that the lunatic has been removed to Richmond Lunatic Asylum, Dublin 13 March 1821. |
