Letter from Major Richard Going, Rathkeale, County Limerick, chief police magistrate for County Limerick, to Charles Grant, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, reporting that many of the insurgents involved in a clash with police in County Limerick, were killed or wounded. Also reports the proceedings of a meeting of magistrates held at Rathkeale, to discuss plans to increase the County Limerick police establishment. Going notes that, 'by their desire the two White Boys [sic] killed in action on the night of the 15th [August] have been Buried on a Common near the police Barracks & Quick lime thrown upon them'. |
