Also copy of letter from John Hazlett, Swanlinbar, County Cavan, to D’Arcy, noting that he witnessed a regular procession of over 200 men carrying spades who had been engaged in digging potatoes for the parish priest; warning that the people regard the Catholic Association as their government and fearing that if the catholic claims are not met with by parliament that they will attempt to enforce them ‘by the Sword’.
