Letter from Rev Hugh B Huleatt, magistrate and minister of the union of Inniscalthra, Clonrush Glebe, [County Clare], to Francis Leveson Gower, Chief Secretary, seeking government permission for the establishment of a yeomanry corps provisioned with government arms and commanded by himself. Reporting that a large meeting of catholics was held in Clonrush chapel which called for a boycott of those who attended the Brunswick Club meeting and that nightly gatherings are held where papers issued by the Catholic Association are disseminated. Claiming that there are 130 protestants available to join the yeomanry in his parish.
