Letter from George Warburton, Inspector General, Dublin, to William Gregory, Under Secretary, reporting that the ‘simultaneous meetings’ which took place in Connaught generally ‘failed in effect’ but that in some places catholic rents were commenced. Adding that some of the speeches made were very violent but that in Carrick on Shannon the large crowd dispersed in an orderly manner at the conclusion of the meeting.
