Letter from Dr George Renny, Fever Committee Office, 5 Parliament Street, Dublin, to Chief Secretary’s Office, requesting ratification of committee consisting of Dr George Renny, Dr William Disney and Reverend James Horner, who are responsible for investigation of claims for fever relief. It is stated that a letter, dated 30 September 1817, should be addressed to committee members by Chief Secretary of Ireland, Robert Peel, ‘constituting them a committee’ for the purposes of making examination of claims for monetary aid in those districts where ‘contagious Fever prevails amongst the Poor’.
