Renders account of his investigation which found that just two convicts raised an objection to treatment at hand of the jailor and his assistants, both he describes as ‘the ringleaders of the riot’ and recent attempted prison break; relays that the military was called to help quell disturbances on 23rd and 24th of May; mention also that bread unfit for consumption was supplied prior to strife in gaol. |

Instructions noted on back state that the convicts are to be removed to the depot in Cork. |

Alleges difficulties in operating business arising from persecution: in Caher, where ‘he was attacked by a Ferocious Rabble with Anonimous [sic] Writings posted on his door’ and in Dublin where ‘his shop is deserted by all his Customers as if it had been Infected by a Malignant Contagion’; while in Dublin, he continues he was ‘Insulted and grossly assaulted as an Informer by a Shop Keeper from the City of Cashel, whom memorialist had arrested by a Peace Officer and a party of Police in Thomas street, and was in a few minutes rescued by a large Mob at the Cherry Street Inn’. |
