Provides names of 16 men and the number in each family, making a total of 118 people, who are prepared to emigrate ‘to undertake the cultivation of Land in Upper Canada’; claims that those seeking assistance with transportation ‘are all of the established religion; that they have served in His Majesty’s Yeomanry in this Country, and that their attachment to His person and Government induces them to prefer settling in His Colonies’. |

Also includes letter from D [?Hicke] to Ennismore with list of venues and dates of sessions in County Cork; also memorandum from the Circuit Office stating ‘There exists some doubt as to the power of the Lord Lieutenant and Council to change the Towns for holding Sessions under 36. Papers provide detail of case in which Lynch was accused at the summer assizes of Trim, County Meath, 1817, of stealing meal and preventing its transportation from the neighborhood, and his subsequent incarceration due to infringement of terms of the act; states that he entered into a recognizance of two sureties for £50, in names of John Tuite and John Fegan; includes four letters from legal representative, RS Tighe, South Hill, Castletown, Delvin, County Westmeath, to Chief Secretary’s office, Dublin Castle, requesting leniency and making suggestions for adjustment to implementation of the act.
