Claims that ‘the Barracks of Bray is in every way well adapted for a temporary Fever Hospital being airy and spacious and quite shut out from the Town’; signed by John Hunt, curate, Thomas Wray and N Heffernan. Also includes letter from Westby, Merrion Square, Dublin, stating utility of use of the barracks of Bray, where, he asserts ‘no one will let a house for the purpose’. Encloses report of William Middleton, medical attendant, Westmeath Gaol, Mullingar, stating ‘We have been particularly attentive to keep the sick and convalescent apart from the other prisoners, but it has been a difficult thing as the number in Gaol is great and we labour under considerable difficulty for want of a Fever Hospital annexed to the prison’.
