Letter from Michael Archer Eades, clerk in stamp office, Dublin, to Chief Secretary's Office, Dublin Castle, enclosing petition of Eades to Earl Talbot, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, requesting acceptance of his resignation on health grounds, and his arrangement for Charles Dickson, a family member, to take his place. Also encloses copy of his original petition requesting appointment to a government post [from which he received appointment as clerk in stamp office], [1818]. Also encloses various letters of recommendation, vouching for character and conduct of Eades, 20 February 1816 - 25 April 1818, and for Charles Dickson, 25 February 1819. Enclosures also include letter from Robert Peel at Irish Office, to Robert Shaw, MP for Dublin city, informing Shaw that his protégé Eades has been appointed to a clerkship in stamp office, 14 March 1818 - sent by Shaw sent to Eades as proof of his exertions on his behalf.
