Certificate of Cusack Roney, medical attendant to County Dublin jail, Kilmainham, stating that he has examined Patrick Cavanagh and Richard Farrell, prisoners at Kilmainham. Reports that they are 'afflicted with Insanity' and recommends their transfer to a lunatic asylum, 30 December 1818. Also letter from Richard Grace, moral governor of Richmond Lunatic Asylum, Dublin, to Thomas Taylor, clerk, Chief Secretary's Office, Dublin Castle, informing him that a vacancy for a male patient has arisen, and therefore one of the lunatic patients currently in Kilmainham jail can be transferred to his care, 10 February 1819. |

Also letter from John Goodwin, Longford, sub sheriff of County Longford, to Gregory, 7 March 1819, enclosing a letter from Moore to Lovell Edgeworth, high sheriff of County Longford, stating that he does not believe that Kenny needs to be removed to Richmond Lunatic Asylum, as his mental derangement was temporary, induced by his epilepsy, which does not occur frequently, 2 March 1819. |

Logan notes that, like many other prisoners in Four Courts, Kennedy is in great poverty, but that he cannot recommend his name to be added to either the bread list or the hospital allowance, more than that of any other prisoner, 29 March 1819. |

Encloses their letter to Grant requesting money to be advanced, based on estimate of Francis Johnston, architect to Board of Works, Dublin, for work to complete and furnish the asylum for the accommodation of 230 patients, 12 February 1819.
