States that vacancy about to arise at the hospital will not be filled, 29 July 1819. Also copy of memorandum on the subject instructing Gregory to inform the various charitable organisations about the investigation, and requesting from them various documents and information, received 7 August 1819.

Encloses printed handbill entitled 'Letter to Mr Henry Hunt', signed 'Lucius', Manchester, August 5 1819, printed by J Wilson, Market Place, Macclesfield. Letter attacks Hunt and his actions, denouncing 'the Disgrace which you have alternately procured to every Cause and Party to which you have attached yourself'.

Also copy of printed parliamentary bill 57 Geo III c.106, 'An Act to provide for the Establishment of Asylums for the Lunatic Poor in Ireland, 11 July 1817. Also letter from Dr George Renny, Army Medical Office, Dublin, Director General of Medical department for Ireland, to Grant, expressing his agreement with Sir John Newport that the provision for lunatics in Waterford's house of industry is inadequate.
