Enclosed report details history of the bridewell; its situation, physical layout, scope and size; details on room size; provision of windows; cells for prisoners; cells for solitary confinement; prison infirmary; details on treatment of male and female prisoners including labour; diet; education and daily routines. 'On the whole, if the Richmond Bridewell be considered with a view to the 3 great objects, whose combination is essential to the excellence of a prison - namely, the safe custody, health and reformation of the convicts, it exhibits great defects and great capabilities'. Petition of inhabitants of Saint Werburgh's parish, Dublin, to Earl Talbot, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle requesting that they are not forced to pay any more metal main tax, until the results of the inquiry by the commissioners of imprest accounts investigating the metal main committee, be published. States that having withheld payment of the latest metal main tax, their water supply has been cut. Emphasises their belief that the money already paid for the 'grievously oppressive' metal main tax, has been misappropriated. Petition signed by 32 inhabitants.
