Emphasises his efforts to alleviate the 'deplorable' state of the poor in Ireland, 27 July 1819 and requests to known if assistance to emigrate could be offered to those currently in receipt of relief from charitable institutions in Ireland, 29 July 1819. Encloses copy of letter from Parker to John Christian Curwen, agriculturalist and MP for Carlisle, [England] concerning his plans, and stating his opinion that emigration is the only hope for the unemployed and afflicted in Ireland. Regrets that he cannot attend Curwen's agricultural meeting, 19 July 1819. |
