Copy of letter from Charles Grant, Chief Secretary of Ireland, Irish Office, London, to Thomas Taylor, Earl of Bective, concerning the Boyne Navigation, and stating that the provisions sought for by the directors of the Boyne Navigation, must be the subject of a private parliamentary bill, brought in on the petition of the proprietors, 10 April 1821. Also letter of reply from Bective, Saint James's Street, London, to Grant, thanking him for his letter. States that he will communicate Grant's information to the directors of the Boyne Navigation, 12 April 1821.

Includes letter from Ball, 4 Leicester Square, London, to Grant, 2 April 1821, enclosing a newspaper extract referring to Ball as 'the Irish solicitor, who made...most valuable disclosures to Government, relative to frauds and embezzlements committed upon the Revenue in the Court of Common Pleas in Ireland', [1821].

Letter from William Smith Bernard, sheriff's office, Cork, high sheriff of County Cork, to William Gregory, Under Secretary, Dublin Castle, 24 January 1821, enclosing newspaper extract from a Cork newspaper of a requisition from noblemen, clergy and freeholders of County Cork, to Bernard, requesting that a meeting be held to express their loyalty to King George IV and government. Includes list of names of all those who signed the requisition. Also letter from Bernard to Charles Grant, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, 24 January 1821, enclosing a loyal address from the noblemen, clergy and freeholders of County Cork, to King George IV, agreed to at a recent meeting [not present - annotation indicates that address was forwarded to Henry Addington, 1st viscount Sidmouth, Secretary of State for the Home Department, London]. Bernard emphasises that the proceedings which followed the close of the meeting were directed by those of the 'lowest description', and not representative of the county.
