Petition of Elinor Nelson, 45 Eccles Street, Dublin, widow of late Reverend H Nelson, to King George IV, detailing the attack on her home by rebels during 1798 rebellion, and the murder of her husband and one of her brothers. Requests an increase in the allowance granted to her by government, 25 August 1821. Also letter from Nelson to Earl Talbot, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, concerning the referral of her petition to his decision, and requesting relief, 20 September 1821. |

Letter from Adam Tyrrell, Grange Castle, Clonard, County Kildare, magistrate, to William Gregory, Under Secretary, Dublin Castle, enclosing petition of the gentlemen and landed proprietors of the barony of Carbery, County Kildare, concerning their complaints at the change of location for the county's quarter sessions [petition not present]. Annotation on reverse of letter of legal opinion of Henry Joy, First Serjeant at Law, stating that the assistant barrister who moved the location, had no such authority to act, and must be questioned on why he did so. Also letter from John Schoales, Leeson Street, Dublin, assistant barrister of County Kildare, to Chief Secretary's Office, Dublin Castle, explaining, as requested, why he decided to move the location of the midsummer quarter sessions from Carbery to Maynooth. Defends himself from various claims made against him in the petition, 26 April 1821. Encloses copy of letter from Schoales to Tyrrell, in response to the petition, and explaining his reasons for the change, 15 April 1821. |

Includes petition of Free to Earl Talbot, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, requesting to be granted a pension for her services in the Bedford Asylum, [January 1821]. Petition certified by Dr James Henthorn, Reverend William O'Connor, Edward Houghton, James Horner, and Francis L'Estrange, former governors of House of Industry, Dublin, 25 January 1821. Also statement of the salary of Susanna Free for previous 6 years, as superintendent of the Bedford Asylum, signed by Major James Palmer, governor, 15 February 1821. Palmer has added a postscript stating that, in his opinion, her salary was 'far above what a Superintendent sh[oul]d receive and I consider it my duty to state it'. |

States that William Logan, inspector of the marshalsea, has instructed him to obtain an order from government before any further coals be supplied, 30 April 1821. Encloses order from Morgan to Logan, requesting that coals be provided to Clougher, 30 April 1821. Also letter from Logan, 40 Mecklenburgh [Railway] Street, Dublin, to Gregory, responding, as requested, to Clougher's letter. |
