Includes letter from R Burke, 14 Jervis Street, Dublin, to William Gregory, Under Secretary, Dublin Castle, 31 August 1820, enclosing his petition to Earl Talbot, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, detailing his family's circumstances, including a legal battle in the Court of Exchequer with Edmond Bray and Andrew McCann, concerning the office of auctioneer and deputy auctioneer. Burke requests that government accept his father's resignation, and appoint him to the post, 31 August 1820.
