Printed list of grants made by order of Richard Wellesley, 1st marquis Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, at the recommendation of the commissioners appointed to receive applications for relief of the poor, between 13 May 1822 and 10 December 1822. List arranged by county, stating the name of person to whom each individual grant was sent; the particular area to which that relief was granted, for example, 'For the relief of the Sick and Fever Poor of Buttevant and vicinity', County Cork; the date of grant; and the amount of each grant. The list also contains hand written annotations, of the total sums granted to each county. Signed by EFW Steinkopff, Dublin Castle, by order of the commissioners for relief of poor, 10 December 1822. Also note by Chief Secretary's Office, concerning the total amount of grants issued by the commissioners for poor relief, and the amount of money remaining for public works [1822]. |
