Petition of the corporation and inhabitants of the town of Wicklow, County Wicklow, to Richard Wellesley, 1st Marquis Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, outlining claim for financial aid for development of harbour in town of Wicklow: refers to vitality of trade, imports and exports and contends that construction of a pier would stimulate ‘the Fishery and the Trade of the Town in general, as well as greatly facilitating the exportation of Copper and Lead Ores: And by promoting the more extensive working of these Mines, finding employment for a great number of industrious Poor, now idle, and in great distress’.
