Printed pamphlet of 'List of Grants made by the direction of His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant, at the recommendation of the Commissioners appointed to receive applications for relief of the poor, between the 13th of May and of December, 1822'; compiled for Dublin Castle, [January 1823]. List arranged by county, detailing the name of person to whom the grant was directed; the area or place where the money was to be used, the date, and the amount of each grant. List of names includes clergymen, magistrates and local landowners. The list for County Mayo has been marked in red ink, and part of its content, for period 13 June 1822-16 October 1822, transcribed by hand on a separate sheet, entitled, 'County Mayo Medical Grants', with the total amount of those particular grants calculated at the end of list. Includes letter from Evanson, Cork, County Cork, to Henry Goulburn, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, supplying as requested, details of quantities of coals sold by the public coal yards in Cork, following his application for payment of salaries and rents, 7 January 1823. Encloses 'An Account of Coals out of the Public Coal Yards in the City of Cork from 5th January 1822 with amount of the Sum they produced and the quantity remaining unsold in the different Yards to the 5th January 1823'. Account signed by Evanson. Also includes 2 memoranda prepared by CSO official, concerning Evanson's claims, and the legislation respecting public coal yards [January 1823]. |
