Petition of Henry Warren Grove, Dublin city, attorney, to Richard Wellesley, 1st marquis Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, requesting appointment to post of register of Court of Appeals. States that he is the nephew of the late James Warren, who formerly held the post, 11 January 1823. Encloses letter from Dr John Radcliff, judge of Court of Prerogative, Dublin, to Grove, in support of Grove's character and testimony, 3 January 1823. Also encloses letter from Charles Kendal Bushe, Kilmurry House, Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Lord Chief Justice of Irish Court of King's Bench, to Grove, lamenting the death of his old friend, James Warren. Informs Grove that he cannot solicit any favours from government, in recommending friends for appointments, as it would be inappropriate to the post he holds, 5 January 1823. |

Notes a lack of resident magistrate, and urges government to prevent such 'atrocities', 30 December 1822.
