Refers specifically to the case of George King, 3rd earl of Kingston, and noting, 'I cannot comprehend how….Lord Kingston can claim a right of interference on the ground of any political understanding between him and the government respecting the patronage of the County of Sligo'. Warns that, as the post of an inspector is a powerful one, any 'collusion between him and the tenantry of his Patron residing on the sea coast, may cause frauds on the Publick [sic] money…'. |
