Also letter from Groome to Edward Geoffrey Smith Stanley, Chief Secretary, protesting over the poor state of the canal at Ballinasloe and the excessive toll charges thereon; complaining the canal is not of adequate depth nor in proper shape to allow the safe passage or accommodation of laden boats.
