Letter from Major Alexander Taylor and Alderman Mark Bloxham, commissioners for paving, cleaning and lighting the streets of Dublin, Paving Corporation House, 21 Mary Street, Dublin, to Henry Goulburn, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, enclosing report for presentation before Richard Wellesley, 1st Marquis Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, drawing attention to the refusal of the Commissioners of Accounts to advance funds for ‘sums…fairly expended for the public advantage’. Pointing to arrears owed by the Corporation of Dublin and ‘the deprivation of news Papers, by which we are convinced the public services of this Board are in many instances retarded’. Also enclosing ‘Statement of Sewer and Flag Work executed by the Commissioners for Paving &c, in the City of Dublin in the year 1822’, indicating the extent of work for individual streets in the city. |
