Also letter from Colby, Ordnance Survey Office, Dublin, to Gregory, noting that he is unaware of the number of assistants employed by Griffith and speculating on the number of positions who can be dispensed with. Stating that at the commencement of the Ordnance Survey the delays caused by the Boundary Department were vexatious but that these have been reduced through the efforts of Griffith. |

Includes letters from John Harvey, Inspector General, to William Gregory, Under Secretary and Francis Leveson Gower, Chief Secretary, initially requesting permission to dismiss Wright but then concluding that Wright should be reinstated at the rank of sub constable.
