Complains of conditions in the proposed area of the gaol and observes ‘I don’t consider it Safe to appear among the criminals more particularly having men committed here against whom I am to appear to prosecute next Assizes’. |

Claims to have been in employment as a revenue officer for 14 years and acted as a volunteer with the Waterford Infantry, under Captain Humphry May and Captain William Gun Paul. He recalls an accident at sea on 1 December 1819 near Mutton Island, off the coast of County Galway, during which he ‘lost the use of his Thumb [and] fore finger of his left hand’. |
