Includes letter from Richard N Bennett, barrister, 2 Harcourt Street, Merrion Square, Dublin, to William H Gregory, Under Secretary of Ireland, Dublin Castle, seeking a response to a memorial from the Ribbonmen to the Lord Lieutenant, 16 July 1823. Also includes memorial from Reverend Andrew Lube, parish priest of St James’, William Yore, curate, and George Canavan, curate, St James’ Chapel House, to Richard Wellesley, 1st Marquis Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, seeking clemency on behalf of Thomas Hughes, Ribbonman, who is presently incarcerated in Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin ‘under Sentence of transportation’, 26 February 1823.
