Memorial signed by 7 magistrates of the western division of the Barony of Upper Connelloe. Includes letter from Sir Matthew Barrington, crown solicitor [for the Munster circuit], Dublin, to William Gregory, Under Secretary, outlining the facts of the case and recommending that Mary Roche be awarded a sum of £10 in light of her husband’s previous service to the crown – indicates that he had testified against Daniel and David Leahy in 1824, and played a significant role in their conviction for attacking and demolishing Abbeyfeale barracks.
