Letter from [Lawrence Parsons, 2nd Earl of] Rosse, Parsonstown [Birr, Kings County or County Offaly], to Henry William Paget, Lord Lieutenant, concerning the renewal of the contract for the conveyance of the Limerick mail and noting the objections raised by Lord O’Neill; outlining some of the terms of the 1796 contract made with Mr Bourne in which it had been agreed that the cost of conveying the mail per mile was to be mirror the costs charged for the Cork, Belfast and Derry mails; stating that O’Neill objects to the agreement made with Bourne in 1821 concerning the duration of the contract and the carriage of outside passengers.
