Includes: covering letter from Morton to Francis Leveson Gower, Chief Secretary; and letter from [Maj] George Warburton [Inspector General of Police in Connaught], Castlegar, [County Galway], to Leveson Gower, referring to enclosed abstract of police report dated 19 November 1828 which summarises the nature of the attack on Morton and his family, and stating that he is ‘now obliged to leave a guard of Police in his house to protect him and family’.
