File of letters from Hugh Montgomery, magistrate, Castle Coole, Lisnaskea, [County Fermanagh], and Blessingburn Cottage, Fivemiletown, [County Tyrone], to William Gregory, [Under Secretary, Dublin Castle], referring to outrages enacted against him and Oliver Bourke, magistrate, enclosing printed offer of a reward with names of fifty subscribers, also referring to a widespread system of intimidation, and to activities by Orange lodges, asking government to renew an act [suppressing] Orange marches, and recommending to give a commission of the peace to John Edward Taylor; also referring to a system of fraud by some of the late Blessington’s tenants. Seemingly, also enclosing affidavit taken from Francis Primrose, stating that Thomas Crawford attempted to collect money from Primrose and Joseph Alexander, also Fivemiletown, towards legal proceedings by Orangemen against magistrates.
