SCOPE & CONTENT: |
Letter from Dr G Renny, Lower Field, Royal Hospital, to Sir Hussey Vivian, requesting the use of the first floor of the Wellesley Hospital for the accommodation of cholera patients from the Royal Hospital; noting that this arrangement will not interfere with the existing arrangement of the House of Industry; observing that these men should not have to mix with ‘poorer classes of Inhabitants’. Also letters from Hussey Vivian, to Sir William Gosset, [Under Secretary], noting that the hospital is required for veteran soldiers who could potentially contract cholera; in a subsequent letter noting that he has changed his mind and has decided to use the Military Cholera Hospital instead. Also letter from George Keane, [Royal Hospital], to Gosset, forwarding the request. |
