Annexes a copy of the resolutions passed at a meeting of Roman Catholic inhabitants of the parishes of Murher and Knockanure, County Kerry, held 11 November 1821, condemning the violent disturbances in County Limerick, and expressing thanks to Thomas Staughton and Reverend Anthony Stoughton, 'for their kind and considerate mode of dealing with us respecting our Tithes; by which one of our heavy burthens has been considerably lightened - and we sincerely regret that all other Proprietors of Tithes do not follow an example which would in a great measure tend to tranquilize the minds of the people at large'.

Reports attacks on houses by groups of disaffected men, in search of arms and ammunition, and a subsequent skirmish between military forces and 'Whiteboys'. Letter from Edward Church, Listowel, County Kerry, to Chief Secretary's Office, Dublin Castle, reporting that he proceeded, as requested, to Mr Hickie at Killelton, County Kerry, to inquire about reports of disturbances. States that there has been much misrepresentation and exaggeration, but reports one incidence of 'Whiteboyism'. Reports that Mr MacDonough, the parish priest of the area, informed him that misrepresentations of the area being disturbed, had stemmed from the yeomanry corps, 'for the purpose of having them placed on permanent duty'.

Discusses the state of the country and praises the stance of the Catholic clergy, 9 December 1821. Encloses copy of resolutions passed at a meeting of Roman Catholic inhabitants of the united parishes of Listowel and Finuge, County Kerry, held 9 December 1821 at Listowel chapel. Resolutions admonish those involved in outrages, but notes that they are motivated by 'manifold privations' and the distress of a large majority of the people, owing to the inclement weather, 'more than any political motive as maliciously insinuated in some publick [sic] Prints'.

Includes letter from Church to Henry Goulburn, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, in praise of the cooperation he has received from the local parish priests, and their 'endeavours to maintain peace and good order, 3 October 1822, and enclosing several bills detailing payments made by Church to John Busteed, of Tralee, County Kerry, and Pierce Chute, printer, for the printing of various notices and advertisements in newspapers, on behalf of the government, 19 September 1821-February 1822.
