Letter from Michael O'Grady, Listowel, County Kerry, to Richard Wellesley, 1st marquis Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, 20 February 1823, appending a copy of a statement by O'Grady, which he sent to George Raymond, 'agent to an absentee Landlord', presenting an abstract of rents, tithes, taxes, and other expenses, incurred in 1822 on lands of Glourie [Glouria], County Kerry, rented by O'Grady from Mr Gun of Cheltenham, England, and demonstrating, 'the return I had from the produce of said Lands in said year to meet s[ai]d demands'. O'Grady emphasises the difficulties of the economic times for Irish tenants and urges need for agents of absentee landlords to exercise 'Moderation & sympathy', and to grant 'immediate abatements' of rent, 13 February 1823.

Petition of William O'Daniel and Cornelius O'Daniel, confined in Listowel bridewell, County Kerry, to Richard Wellesley, Lord Lieutenant, Dublin Castle, detailing their case; refers to their being prosecuted and found guilty under the Whiteboy act in 1822, followed by the subsequent overturning of the verdict, due to intervention by county gentlemen who believed that the O'Daniels had been 'wronged'. Refers to subsequent persecution at the hands of Catherine Carr, and to false charges made against them 'thro[ugh] spite and malice'. Requests that they are granted bail until the next assizes at Listowel.

Letter from Richard Griffith, Dublin, civil engineer overseeing public works schemes, to Henry Goulburn, Chief Secretary, Dublin Castle, concerning his surveys undertaken to ascertain the best line of communication between Listowel, County Kerry, and Abbeyfeale, County Limerick. States that his preferred route passes through a 'wild and mountainous district at present nearly inaccessible…'. Requests permission to spend £600 in marking out, fencing and draining the road, to allow work to commence on it in spring 1824, 27 August 1823.
